The Aetheric Message Machine Company brings text messaging to the Victorian era.

Our other work leads us to need to understand how complex mechanical devices can be made reliable. To this end, we've worked with these complex, yet quite reliable, messaging machines. As an exercise in steampunk technology, we are bringing text messaging into the Victorian era. We send and receive text messages on the machine shown below.

These messages were sent as cell phone text messages.

We operate a 19th century telegraph office at various steampunk conventions, with messages sent in by attendees, electrically printed on our machines, and delivered by our messengers.
Clockwork Alchemy

Our next appearance will be at the Clockwork Alchemy Steampunk Convention, May 26–29, 2017 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.

Our machinery was at the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition in Emeryville, CA, in March, 2010,at Maker Faire in San Mateo, California in May, 2010, the Wild Wild East Steampunk Exhibition in March, 2011, Clockwork Alchemy in 2012, the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition again in April 2013, and Clockwork Alchemy again in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
